Purpose of Job

To assist Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical Engineers in such activities as computer-based process control, instrumentation, or machine design. To participate in preparing layouts of machinery or equipment, planning the flow of work, conducting statistical studies, or analyze production costs to increase systems reliability.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Independent idea generation

Solve problems on related BU level and impact value chains

Improve technology application and integration for at least one technology

Verify quality of group delivery

Independently implement solutions based on cost effective principle

Products, systems, programmes, procedures and models: development and delivery

Monitor the performance of implemented solutions

Plan and meet project management objectives in technical, professional and expert areas of work

Policies, practices, standards, procedures and methods: application, review and development

Establish technical and professional policies, practices, procedures and standards

Trends analysis, problem solving and decision quality

Deliver expert solutions to meet changing business and work requirements

Extract, capture and disseminate knowledge management standards

Ensure that the quality of decision making with regards to projects are high

Review and report on the process and risk impact with regards to a portfolio of projects

Take corrective action when necessary with projects

Establish technical and professional policies, practices, procedures and standards

Values, solutions, goal clarity and alignment

Provide solutions which are aligned to business unit goals and values

Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol Values (Sasol values assessment biannually)

Sell and obtain support for value adding ideas leading to Business Results

Work independently, know when to seek assistance

Continuously develop extensive knowledge relating to the field of work and personal mastery in technical skills application

Ensure that personal development plan is completed, implemented and tracked

BTech University Bachelors Degree (South Africa)
