Minimum Requirements
The main purpose of the position is to render efficient and effective clinical care to volunteers on research studies and clients at the Youth Centre. Please include a cover letter with your application demonstrating compliance with the below requirements:
- MBChB; with active HPCSA registration as an Independent Practitioner
- Face to face GCP training with an accredited provider (like Crede)
- Must be within 3 years of completion of community service
- Valid BLS
- Computer skills (Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent Communication (verbal and written) skills
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent ability to build interpersonal relationships
- Strong client focus
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Strong work ethic
- Detail oriented and capable of completing study documentation legibly and accurately
- Willing to work with COVID patients
- Willing to work flexible hours and weekends if required
- Valid Code 08 Drivers License
- Valid ACLS certificate
Clinical Procedures:
- Clinically assess, examine, diagnose and manage the health of participants and YC clients
- Check and follow up blood results
- Complete prescriptions of pharmaceuticals appropriately
- Monitor clinical examinations and procedures undertaken by study nurses when necessary
- Manage accountability and adherence monitoring of study drugs
- Refer participants to other clinical care as required
- Consult with other clinical and research staff when necessary
- Manage participants with Adverse Events or Expedited Adverse Events and report as per protocol requirements
- Interpret and act on laboratory results
- Perform other protocol specific procedures when necessary (endoscopy, counselling, swabs, biopsies, etc.)
- Document all procedures and investigations as per study requirements
- Transcribe and ensure quality control of study documentation
- Attend clinical and research management meetings
- Assist in preparing study documentation for audits, monitoring visits and site visits from external study monitors.
- Assist with the design and enactment of standard operating procedures for clinical management and research projects
