MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST
OBARO HEAD OFFICE

The successful candidate will report to the Procurement Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational input into category strategy;
- Review and influence selling formats to optimize in-store displays that are strategy reflective;
- Co-create, co-ordinate and update company CI store blueprint in terms of space allocation, flows, and adjacencies in line with category strategic shifts;
- Translating the merchandising strategy and providing training to all branches on how to implement the strategy;
- Train branches on how to enhance the customer experience;
- Conduct regular store visits to identify opportunities for execution improvement and sales opportunities to drive performance and sales;
- Ensure the effective training and in-store implementation of agreed space and merchandising principles in line with category strategies;
- Continuously improve category merchandising and proactively seek opportunities to drive category and business sales;
- Ensure that micro space layouts (branches with a Padstal or Fuel Station) accurately reflect the customer decision tree and category strategy; and
- Identify and influence range and catalog opportunities and ensure space optimization.
Skills, Qualifications, and General Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification;
- BCom Marketing Degree will be advantageous;
- 3 years relevant retail experience;
- Valid drivers license;
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English;
- Computer literacy and knowledge of the MS Office package; and
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
