This role will report to the Head of Strategy and M&A
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct and maintain a comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential risks in the renewable energy sector.
- Manage the development and implementation of the company's strategic initiatives and long-term business plans, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Coordinate the analysis of financial data, investment models, and feasibility studies to evaluate potential projects and partnerships.
- Lead the collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for operational improvement, cost optimization, and revenue generation within the existing portfolio of renewable energy assets.
- Manage the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including conducting due diligence and preparing investment proposals.
- Coordinate the preparation of investment reports and presentations.
- Prepare strategic presentations, reports, and recommendations for senior management and the board of directors, highlighting key findings and insights to support decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain excel financial models of Mulilos potential projects and acquisition opportunities.
- Monitor and assess policy and regulatory developments in the renewable energy industry, providing insights and recommendations on potential impacts and opportunities for the company.
- Support the development and maintenance of relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry associations, government bodies, and potential partners.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market dynamics related to renewable energy, contributing to thought leadership and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Honours degree in finance, economics, or engineering.
- A masters degree in a related field may be preferred.
- 2+ years experience in investment bank or consultancy.
- Experience in renewable energy will be preferred.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to conduct market research, perform data analysis, and develop financial projections.
- Solid understanding of the renewable energy industry, including knowledge of different technologies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics is preferred.
- Experience in acquisitions, strategic analysis, business planning, or management consulting.
- Excellent capabilities in in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare compelling presentations, reports, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing effective strategic initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
