Minimum Qualifications
- Metallurgy or related degree equivalent at NQF level 7
- At least 5 years experience within mining metallurgical operations and engineering environment
- Experience in the design and operations of base metals processing concentrator plants
- Experience with feasibility studies
- Plant sampling systems and metallurgical accounting
- Focus of experience on crushing, ore sorting, milling, froth flotation, thickeners, filtration, metal accounting
- Advanced computer literacy
- Scope test work programs for feasibility studies
- Coordinate test work programs at external partner and vendor laboratories.
- Interact with equipment vendors and EPC firms executing feasibility studies and projects.
- Complete trade-off studies on process alternatives or equipment to optimise process flow sheets.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of processing equipment.
- Develop and implement metallurgical accounting systems and production reporting for operations
- Prepare and present technical reports to management and other stakeholders.
- Project planning, costing and implementation
- Assist with the development of operational budgets and costing
- Stakeholder management: liaise with management, operations, projects and external service providers.
- Performing and commissioning process modifications
- Technical process optimisation
- Review and participate in laboratory and/or pilot scale test work for process development.
- Evaluation of operating procedures
- Environmental trends analysis
- Changing technical parameters to minimise the effect of unexpected problems in liaison with line managers
- Workshop and communicate different solutions to problems with technical staff and management at mining operations
- Apply statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments.
