JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT: HYDROMETALLURGY

We are seeking Technical Sales Support: Hydrometallurgy to join our Technical Sales Support Team.

Technical Sales Support for Hydrometallurgy supports first line technical issues in the Africa Market Area (AMA), resulting in the provision of technical solutions to support customer needs and issues relating to products defined and support of the more complex technical scopes of proposals.

Under the Hydrometallurgy portfolio, we will require technical competence as well as a drive to assist in problem solving. This role is a pivotal in terms of aligning the Global Product Line specialists with the Market Area (MA) and customer needs.

Essentially, the Technical Sales Support role works with the Sales Area to effectively deliver a seamless experience, that delivers a technical solution that meets the customers needs, thus supporting the sales team to, to enhance and build relationships with the downstream effect on sales realisation.

In this position, you will report to the Technical Sales Support Manager.

This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.

TEAM YOU BELONG TO
  • You will join the Technical Sales Support Team and work closely with internal // external stakeholders, such as Management, Other Engineers, Clients, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors and Site Staff.
What You Will Do
  • Providing high technical expertise in troubleshooting, process knowledge, technical incidents, operation and maintenance for Hydrometallurgy. Through site visits and using Digital and Remote services (i.e. Augmented Reality)
  • Specializing to own technology areas to provide expertise support in site operations and technology related incidents and inquiries or problems
  • Participating in technical warranty claim or customer complaint handling
  • Act as a trainer for internal/external technical trainings, for products
  • Expertise support for problem management, technical sales support, R&D and product development
  • Support IB Validation; CTO and ETO quotation development through solution definition and technical research , inspection report reviews, recommendations and solution as requested
  • Supporting Field Services with technical information/details
  • Supporting the sales process and assisting with the technical information flow and part numbers
  • Assisting with developing and influencing and negotiations when require
Who You Are
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • B Tech / BSc / B Eng Metallurgical / Process Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years field experience in Process Equipment or,
  • Must have Sales experience
  • Experience of applications in minerals processing
  • Must have up to date understanding & knowledge as a Technical Product Specialist
  • Understanding and experience of sales and financials
  • Familiarity with a broad range of Minerals Processing Equipment
  • Familiar with the core processes of the sales process
  • Experience in complex relationships

  • Position requires support management expertise, good customer relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, mechanical aptitude, creativity, innovation, and ability to see the larger picture

  • Strong relationship building skills, a bias for action and detail-oriented behaviours
  • A high level of computer skills is essential Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and Supervision skills
  • Client skills including building and managing relationships, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb and balance
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolds at jobsites and customer facilities
  • Full drivers license with clean drivers records and be able to travel regularly
