We're seeking a talented and creative Mid-weight Graphic Designer to join our team based in Woodstock, Cape town. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to turn concepts into visually appealing designs.
Background
As Mid-weight Designer at GoSolr you must be an experienced designer who is involved in and contributes to the conceptual development and delivery of brand design solutions for the company. This individual must possess highly developed design skills with the ability to originate brand solutions with a high level of understanding of production processes and parameters. With a strong people skills, they are able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. They have an appreciation of related design disciplines and a willingness to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary project team. They have competent written and verbal communication skills and possess a solid commercial understanding and awareness.
A Mid-weight Designer is a trusted member of the design team and is capable to confidently develop and execute design solutions with oversighht from their direct report. A Mid-weight Designer is expected to support fellow designers and proactively add value to all active projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and design various materials for digital and print
- Advise best practices and optimisations throughout design projects
- Collaborate with fellow designers
- Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software
- Establish creative direction for the company within brand guidelines
- Manage multiple projects with design specifications
- Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces
- Create visualisations that convey accurate messaging for the project
- Approach all design projects with verve and passion
- Question the project, identify and solve for the problem
- Support the team in satisfying business requirements
- Proactively ensure the efficient progress of a project from brief to completion
- Work collaboratively to develop creative solutions
- Play an active role in the company and in meetings
- Help ensure that deadlines are met and design solutions are conceived practically
- Oversee execution and quality control of printing and production
- Represent and promote GoSolr in industry and beyond
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into design projects
- Position our brand as the leader on social media
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a creative field
- Minimum of four years' experience in graphic design
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and diverse design projects
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print and web
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collabote effectively
- Attention to detail
- Time management and organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Driven to exceed expectations and hungry for continual self-improvement
