We are currently in the process of recruiting a Mill Operator & Setter for the Wire Division based in Roodepoort in South Africa. The role will report directly to the Wire Foreman of South Africa. The job holder will bring fresh enthusiasm, motivation to help strengthen the team. Purpose of the Job:
- To ensure that welding wire is produced according to the mix sheets specifications.
- Accept responsibility for the production output, quality and housekeeping within the relevant area.
Description of Accountabilities:
- Maintain maximum production output of an acceptable quality level by ensuring that the machine runs continuously by:
- Control whether raw material is mixed and prepared.
- Use the mix (production) sheet for a specific batch production
- Check powder and set fill ratio
- If incorrect – operator to reset ratio
- Do a welding wire weld test to ensure it conforms to specifications and quality standards
- Maintain housekeeping taking into account the 5s concept
- Always maintain good health and safety principles
- Complete all relevant admin requirements as and when needed
