Minimum qualifications
A Grade 12 (Standard 10)/NQF Level 4 is essential
A valid Blasting Certificate is essential
A B degree/NHD in Mining Engineering is essential
A valid Mine Overseerʼs and Mine Managerʼs Certificate of Competency are essential
Job-specific experience and requirements:
3 yearsʼ working experience as a Mine Overseer is essential
At least 5 yearsʼ working experience as an appointed Mine Manager is essential
2 yearsʼ working experience as a Shift Supervisor is essential
3 yearsʼ working experience in a project environment would be considered an advantage
Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential
Medically fit in order to obtain a Medical Certificate
Additional essential requirements:

Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost-effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the shaft/business unit
Implement and maintain sound people management and development practices to ensure a productive workforce
Develop and execute the strategic vision/ plan for a shaft(s) and directly assist the GM in the tactical management process via transformational/effective leadership
Act as the custodian for innovation, technology and best practices at shaft level
Ensure environmental and social concerns are managed as a strategic focus area at shaft level
Ensure effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to
