Mining Engineer

Our Client is seeking a full-time Mining Engineer to join their team in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. The Mining Engineer will play a pivotal role in mine planning, including the design and scheduling of both open pit and underground mining operations. This role requires the application of advanced mining engineering principles and close collaboration with team members to ensure the implementation of efficient and sustainable mining practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute mine plans and schedules for open pit and underground mining operations.
• Design and optimize mining layouts and operations to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions and support project goals.
• Apply mining engineering principles to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for safe and sustainable mining practices.
• Utilize mine design software (Datamine or Deswik) to create and manage detailed mining plans.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in mine planning is essential.
• Expertise in Mining Engineering with a strong understanding of open pit mining operations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in mine design software, such as Datamine or Deswik.
