Storekeepers manage, supervise, or perform a variety of tasks in ordering, receiving, storing, accounting for, distributing, shipping, and issuing equipment, apparatus, materials, and supplies; and perform other related duties as required. Incumbents are typically employed in a central receiving, central stores, or departmental stores facility. Incumbents may be involved in the complete range of stores or receiving functions or may specialize in one of the major functions as mentioned above. The Storekeeper Series consists of six levels. Assistant Storekeeper is the entry level. Storekeeper is the operational level. Stores Worker is the operational level requiring operation of powered materials handling equipment. Senior Storekeeper is the advanced operational or working supervisory level. Stores Supervisor is the full supervisory level, and Senior Stores Supervisor is the first managerial level. Duties and responsibilities at higher levels than those specified in this series would warrant consideration for the Management Services Officer series. Annual cost of goods in this Series shall mean the total value of goods issued during the year.
