Mine Manager

The incumbent will lead the Mining Team in the cost-effective optimisation and extraction of the ore
body and to ensure compliance of provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its
Regulations. Further areas of focus will include to manage the mining department, manage labour
stability and turnover, maintaining discipline, coach employees to ensure improved performance
levels, optimise the ore body in compliance with the Mine Planning and Exploitation Strategy,
Strategic Planning, Tactical Planning and to plan and control the mining budget.
Candidate must have a Degree or National Diploma, be a holder of a Mine Manager’s Certificate of
Competence and have 8 years relevant experience.
Mine Overseer
Paterson D-Upper (Ref. No. BL2)
The incumbent will optimise the mining operation and continuously improve current practices,
methods, equipment and processes in order to exceed production targets. Compliance to the
provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its regulations. Further areas of
focus will include to manage a mining section, ensure discipline is maintained, manage performance
of subordinates, assist in the control, management and direction of the underground working of the
mine, strategic planning, tactical planning and managing the sections cost.
Candidate must have a Grade 12, be a holder of a Blasting Certificate (Scheduled Mines) for at least
4 years and a valid driver’s license (Code EB/08). Candidates must be in possession of a Mine
Overseer Certificate of Competency for Scheduled Mines and have 6 years’ mining experience and 3
years’ experience as a Mine Overseer.
Mining Shift Boss

The incumbent will supervise the cost-effective execution of all mining work in order to ensure the
achievement of mining and quality targets. Ensure compliance with provisions of the Mine Health &

Paterson C2 (Ref. No. BL4)
The incumbent will operate a stoping panel and/or development end during a shift. Ensuring safe
working practices, continuous inspection of panel and/or end conditions and monitoring the
availability of resources will be required.
Candidates must have a Grade 12/N3 coupled with a Blasting Certificate or National Rock Breaking
Certificate Level 3 and at least 5 years conventional and trackless mining experience.
Mining Operator Control Room
Paterson C1 (Ref. No. BL5)
The incumbent will coordinate mining, production and engineering works done on shifts
underground and to safely monitor and control the total operational function of the mine on each
shift.
Candidates must hold a Grade 12 / N3, 7 years underground mining experience and 2 years
supervisory experience and valid certificate of medical fitness. A Blasting Certificate will be
advantageous.
Mining Administrator
Paterson B4 (Ref. No. BLC1)
The incumbent will provide a general administrative service to management and staff, order
materials, take minutes at meetings, update graphs and type general correspondence.
Candidates must have a Grade 12/N3 and be computer literate on SAP, IMS System and Microsoft. A
certificate or diploma in office administration will be advantageous.
Mining Operator LHD
Paterson B4 (Ref. No. BLC2)
The incumbent will safely operate assigned mobile equipment optimally to ensure the attainment of
production targets according to the production plan, maintain roadways, load and off load materials,
lubrication of equipment and general housekeeping.
Candidates must have a Grade 10 / N1 as well as a valid LHD Certificate of Competence verified by

The incumbent will be responsible to safely load material and explosives on the UV, assist in

Mining Operator Winch

4MAINTENANCE
Engineer
Paterson D-Upper (Ref. No. BL6)
The incumbent will be responsible for driving the overall management, direction and continuous
improvement of the Asset Capability Assurance process in a safe manner, through clearly defined
strategies and objectives for maintenance for the site. Further focus areas will include to manage the
engineering section, ensure discipline is maintained, manage the overall maintenance strategy for
the mine, ensure adherence to maintenance management principles, managing the engineering
assets to ensure they produce at their designed capacity and prepare and control the engineering
budget of the mine.
Candidate must have a B. Eng or BSc. Degree or National Diploma and a Government Certificate of
Competency (Mines and Works).
Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical)

The incumbent will supervise the safe and cost-effective execution of all electrical maintenance of
equipment and facilities. Ensure high quality workmanship of artisans and contractors.
Candidate must have a Grade 12 / N3 qualification coupled with a relevant Section 13 Trade Test
(Electrical) and SAP experience. Candidate must be well experienced in Medium Voltage: switching,
phasing and fault finding, MV circuit breaker operation as well as 5 years supervisory experience will
also be required.
Maintenance Supervisor (Trackless)

The incumbent will supervise the safe and cost effective execution of all maintenance of
underground machinery and workshop equipment. Ensure high quality workmanship of artisans and
contractors.
Candidates must have a Grade 12 / N3 qualification coupled with a relevant Section 13 Trade Test
and SAP experience. Experience in mechanised and conventional mining is advantageous as well as 5
years relevant experience in trackless with preferably 2 years supervisory experience.
Maintenance Practitioner (Planner)

The incumbent will safely and cost effectively identify, plan and schedule maintenance and
shutdown work, maintain master data, comply with SHEQ requirements and utilise the information

Artisan Boilermaker

The incumbent will safely carry out preventive maintenance and repairs in line with documented
work instructions. Conduct fault-finding on defective equipment and maintain and repair. Conduct
regular inspections and ensure standards and procedures are maintained.
Artisan Electrician

The incumbent will carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on trackless mobile machinery in
line with documented work instructions and attend to breakdowns quickly and safely. Capture
history and complete the notifications. Perform isolation and issue lockout documents. Capture all
data related to the stoppage in order to determine the root cause.
Artisan Auto Electrician

lifting and moving equipment.

6Maintenance Administrator Lamp Room

The incumbent will ensure legal compliance to the lamp room code of practice by keeping accurate
records and overseeing the issuing and maintenance of lamps, self-contain self-rescue packs and gas
instruments as well as the maintenance of these instruments.
Candidate must have Grade 12 or N3 qualification, Lampsman Certificate issued by the DMR and be
certified to conduct repairs on all instrumentation by the OEM. Computer literacy on SAP and
Microsoft is also required.

Mineral Resources Practitioner Strata Control
Paterson C-Upper (Ref. No. BL19)
The incumbent will identify and locate geological features by means of Ground Penetrating Radar.
Investigate fall of ground occurrences and adverse rock conditions and make support
recommendations. Assess operations and procedures carried out by production personnel
underground. Conduct rock quality designation analysis of borehole cores.
Candidate must have a (COM) Strata Control Certificate, a relevant degree or National Diploma and
at least 3 years’ relevant experience.
Mineral Resources Practitioner Geology

The incumbent will be responsible to scientifically manage the mineral resources base of the mine in
a safe and responsible manner by safely undertaking routine underground (stoping and
development) mapping, core-logging, interpreting geological structures, plotting and report
information.
Candidates must have a BSc Hons (Geology) Degree or B Tech Geology qualification with 1 to 2 years
post graduate experience working as a Mine Geologist. Knowledge of MINEX, CAD and GBIS will be
advantageous.

9Mineral Resources Coordinator Survey
Paterson C-Mid (Ref. No. BL21)
The incumbent will be responsible to conduct underground surveys, plot and project survey points,
perform tape surveys, plot linear measurements and calculate quantities, establish survey control
and align drilling machines, produce survey notes and measure the stratigraphic widths of mineral
exposure.
Candidates must have a Grade 12 / N3 and Elementary Survey Certificate.
Mineral Resources Operator GPR

The incumbent will be responsible to safely operate ground penetrating radar, interpretation of GPR
scans, compile records of data obtained pertaining to GPR, instrument readings, measuring spacing

SHEQ Coordinator Environmental

The incumbent will be responsible to coordinate environmental projects, educate and enhance the
Company’s reputation within the community. Responsibilities will include identifying and assessing
level based risk exposures, conducting environmental audits, identifying environmental risks,
monitoring of environmental behaviour, sampling for air and water and overseeing waste
management.
Candidate must have a Grade 12 / N3, relative safety training, ISO 1400 Auditing Course, be
computer literate and have sound knowledge of the NEMA Act. A Diploma in Environmental
Management will be advantageous.
SHEQ Administrator Clinic

The incumbent will collate and process general SHEQ statistics, reports and conduct general SHEQ
Administration and assist customers visiting the clinic with information and front desk services.
Candidate must have a Grade 12 / N3 and be computer literate – including SAP. Experience in a clinic
environment will be advantageous.
