Your responsibilities will include:
- Conceptualising, implementing and management of ongoing promotional marketing campaigns to drive grocery orders on the Mr D platform.
- Own, update and maintain the Mr D Grocery promotional calendar for Mr D Grocery, initiatives.
- You will need to develop an in-depth knowledge of each consumer target market group to craft meaningful promotional strategies.
- Work closely with the merchandising team to improve customer conversion within the Mr D app.
- Collaborate with the Grocery Product team to develop, coordinate and implement relevant campaigns and promos that are aligned with the overall promo calendar and relevant business objectives. Drive new feature launches and create sustained always-on educational content on product features and differentiators
- Briefing and operational management and coordinating of the various campaigns.
- Sourcing partnership opportunities with big brands (e.g. Coke, e-bucks etc.) in the market, and engaging in ongoing strategies to unlock the potential of those partnerships.
- Engagement with the brand team on through the line groceries and Mr D brand campaigns
- Engagement with the social media team on monthly content planning and preparation, as well as paid influencer partnerships
- Liaison with Pick n Pay marketing and trade marketing teams in joining campaigns and in-app merchandising
- Work with internal specialist teams on creating and implementing performance media and CRM strategies to grow the groceries offering from Mr D
- Working with Takealot Group marketing representatives to cross-sell and access new shoppers from their customer bases
- Monthly, Weekly and daily reporting of campaign and promo performance.
- A candidate with a proven track record of success in their academic achievements and career.
- A 3+ year degree in business, marketing or communications
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years retail and marketing experience
- Experience working across marketing channels Digital, ATL, Partnerships with demonstrable results
- The candidate will have had regular interaction at the executive level
- Proven track record of delivering projects
- A strong strategic thinker who has worked with C-level executives - an ability to craft plans to create promotions and generate orders
- An analytical mind and an ability to craft a retail marketing strategy based on sales figures and targets
- An understanding of e-commerce and the key levers that drive sales in an e-commerce environment
- A highly driven individual who is motivated to drive meaningful sales revenue for the business through retail marketing initiatives including - promotions, product launches and co-marketing opportunities with brands and third parties.
- A person who is a very strong relationship builder and can unlock opportunities with brands and third parties.
- Ability to identify key advertising opportunities and translate these into implementable plans
- Motivated, and capable to focus on and hit aggressive growth targets
- In-depth understanding of the advertising sales and tools
- Skilled in managing high-value accounts and managing relationships at an executive level
- Strong prioritization skills
- Fast learner and ability to thrive in a dynamic and high pace environment
- Systems thinker with the ability to understand and break down complex problems and relationships
- Creative and practical problem solving skills; solution-oriented
