Payroll and Benefits Consultant - Yuppie Chef

The purpose of this role is to execute all payroll functions efficiently, accurately and timeously. We see payroll and benefits as an important aspect of our team culture and aim to resolve employees' queries and concerns timeously and positively. You should be accessible and available to any of our team members when it comes to payroll and benefits queries. You will also be involved in payroll audit and reporting per the legislative requirements.

You will be part of our broader People team which includes HR and Talent Acquisition. The People Team are passionate about what we do and sets high standards for ensuring a positive team experience. You will also connect with our Finance team as partners in the payroll process. Our teams interdependence means that it is vital that we are working towards cohesive goals and communicate effectively to ensure timelines and outputs are met.

What experience and skills do you need for the role
Ideally, you should have:
2-3 years experience in a payroll function, preferably in a mid-size organisation with full in-house payroll
2-3 years experience working with medical aid schemes and administration thereof
Experience managing payrolls with various employee pay schedules including hourly-paid employees
Strong administration and management experience in record-keeping systems
Experience in dealing with employee queries and resolution thereof.
Demonstrable examples of bringing innovation that enhances physical systems.
Strong IT skills including building reporting and reconciliation systems.
A relevant tertiary education would be an advantage, specifically with a bookkeeping or accounting focus.
