Job Introduction
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for an NCC Controller (Temp/ Casual Leave Reliever), reporting to work as and when needed, based at our operations in Centurion, reporting to the Control Room Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the NCC Controller plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility
Main Purpose of the Position
This role is responsible to ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, NCC procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed & updated.
Compliance and Monitoring
- Respond to employees safety concerns and institute investigations
- To ensure that customers expectations are exceeded whenever possible
- To ensure that all systems are followed and to treat customers in a friendly and polite manner and do everything in their power to exceed customers expectations
- To deal with customer feedback, whether positive or negative, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner
- The compliance controller must ensure OHS compliance of all drivers and circulate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to the General Managers, National Fleet Manager as well as the Regional and National management committee members
- The compliance controller will monitor the safety of our drivers using CCTV where available to identify non-conformance on OHS
- The compliance controller must identify tracking units which are not downloading and investigate why this is the case and provide feedback within 48hrs. If the unit is faulty repairs should immediately be affected with the fleet manager
- Escalating exceptions and running trip reports from daily mileage reports to assist in investigating the deviations and violations
- Circulate the daily, weekly and monthly fleet reports relating to safety violations identified
- Running and circulating the weekly risk management reports in line with the driver performance
- Ensuring overall adherence to all Fleet related SOPs Nationally on Risk360
- Interrogating the feedback on daily fleet exceptions reports nationally and ensuring that corrective action is taken
- Driver performance and Site Visits-Driver behavior to be monitored and site visits measured against agreed client SLA requirements
- Ensure that the tracking equipment is in good working order and that damage or equipment failures are reported to the fleet Manager immediately
- Ensure that the policies and instruction issued are followed in the event of down time to minimize service interruptions
- Ensure a proper hand-over of all equipment at shift change and confirm that all equipment is in working order.
- Conduct scheduled tests of systems and report any faults immediately
- Ensure that all procedures are stringently adhered to
- Check the information / reports (customer reports etc) provided to staff and management and correct obvious errors / omissions before forwarding the report
- Ensure that any short shift status in the contact center is communicated to the NCC manager
- Support EHS efforts of the Company
- Ensure that all unsafe acts and conditions are reported to management
- Ensure familiarity and compliance with OHS policies and standards
- Ensure that all tasks are performed in the safest possible manner
- Use prescribed personal protective wear when required and always adheres to safe work procedures when operating tools or equipment
- Participate with Managers in conducting regular Self-Inspections
- Attend relevant safety meetings and safety discussion sessions
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programs
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Wear protective clothing all the time
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- A three year Degree or National Diploma in Health and Safety or Safety Management or equivalent qualification advantageous
- Knowledge of relevant Legislations, security regulations, standards, incident, investigations, techniques, risk assessment methodologies
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office & Outlook)
