Job Purpose
To facilitate long term strategy development around new or existing value propositions for business to mid-corporate clients and provide management with strategy updates. Develops and implements a strategy definition and implementation process within the function, including measurements against long term strategy. Provides management with corporate performance measures and competitor analysis and ensures functional alignment with Group, cluster and segment strategies. Responsible for developing partnerships, strategic alliances and associations whilst representing the organisation's views effectively.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate threats and opportunities in terms of impact and risk through market analytics and research.
- Identify and analyse key trends to improve business competitiveness.
- Identify, unpack and analyse large and complex strategic opportunities and challenges
- Analyse stakeholders, competitors and their responses, and client needs known and unknown to clients
- Analyse relevant value chains of all involved stakeholders
- Analyse and communicate strategic positions of clients, stakeholders, and competitors in the current context as well as their strengths and weaknesses
- Develop appropriate responses / options to large and complex strategic opportunities and challenges, and provide a recommendation
- Design the future value chains, clients, partners, stakeholders and competitors involved.
- Design the relationships between all parties, identifying what everyone needs and provides to the other parties, where there are lock-in situations and where parties are exchangeable.
- Communicate to and work with internal and external stakeholders, partners, clients and potentially competitors on those options.
- Support the achievement of the business strategy; objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems; process; services and solutions are aligned.
- Enable skilling and required corrective action to take place by sharing knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction Ensure execution of strategic initiatives through monitoring and benchmarking of outcomes.
- Report on key strategic outcomes/results to various stakeholders (staff; business unit, cluster and group management; clients and communities) through reports and presentations.
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes; models and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
- Facilitate the formulation of strategy in the form of three-year business plan.
- Facilitate discussions on key strategic interventions through business meetings.
- Provide planning guidelines and facilitate planning reviews and making strategic choices in line with business imperatives.
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Chartered Account, Masters in Business Administration, PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) or Engineering.
Minimum Experience Level
12 years working experience and relevant industry experience
