Day to day as a Network Admin II
Wisper ISP is looking for a talented Network Administrator II to join our top-notch Network Operations Center (NOC) team. In this full-time position, you will be the champion of 24/7 network monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of network and wireless access point issues. It's a role filled with opportunities to showcase your problem-solving skills. As a Network Admin II, your responsibilities will include deploying, sustaining, troubleshooting, and repairing standard network infrastructure systems, IP detection systems, and Wireless Access Points.

Plus, you'll serve as an internal escalation point for incidents, working closely with our Engineering Department to identify potential areas for upgrades and enhancements. To thrive in this Network Administrator II role at Wisper ISP, you'll need a diverse set of skills and the ability to navigate various software and tools. First and foremost, you should possess the ability to quickly diagnose, prioritize, and troubleshoot both internal and external network issues across all layers of Wisper's Network - Access, Distribution, and Core. Additionally, you'll be responsible for resolving issues escalated by NOC employees, participating in special projects, and adhering to NOC procedure and troubleshooting standards. Change management review and approval, as well as collaborating with peers to identify and resolve network issues, will be critical aspects of your daily responsibilities. You will also play a key role in documentation and keeping all tickets and tower data up to date.
Equipment configuration and setup will fall under your purview, as will participating in a regularly scheduled after-hours/weekend on-call rotation. In terms of requirements, at a minimum, you should hold a high school diploma or equivalent. You'll also need at least three years of experience or relevant education diagnosing and repairing network outages, along with hands-on experience or relevant education in networking, routing, and switching. Knowledge of best practices surrounding the management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure is essential, as is experience or education in the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of firewalls, VPN, WAN, and LAN infrastructure. Lastly, you must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future.
