Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Network Engineer to join our team on a fixed-term contract for 12 -24 months in Cape Town, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network infrastructure and performance, coupled with the ability to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot complex network systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and install various network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Provide hands-on support for Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) services.
- Monitor network infrastructure and performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular network maintenance and system upgrades to enhance performance.
- Manage capacity and asset of the network infrastructure effectively.
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve network issues promptly.
- Work with both wired and wireless technologies to ensure comprehensive network coverage.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.
- Proven experience in configuring and installing network devices.
- Strong knowledge of WAN and LAN configurations and troubleshooting.
- Experience with network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies and their integration into network systems.
- Ability to conduct capacity and asset management of network resources.
- Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 20 years of relevant networking experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting for network issues.
- Experience in a dynamic IT environment with a focus on network performance and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools and technologies related to network performance.
