My client is seeking a Network Operations Technician with at least 3 years experience working in the Transmission/ IP Networks environment to be involved in the monitoring of the Transport network (24/7), troubleshooting and coordinating resolution of fault with the various support areas. Perform root cause analysis and drive incident lifecycle. This is a 6 months contract.
Qualification And Experience
Degree/3 Year National Diploma (S4)/within the Electrical Engineering /Information Technology /Computer Science/ Software Engineering is essential
At least 3 years working in the Transmission / IP Networks environment
Knowledge
- Incident Management & Problem Management.

- GSM knowledge and related technologies.
Ensuring optimal network performance by proactive monitoring the transmission network for alarms. Scrutinising performance result for any abnormalities, logging calls and following up with service providers and regions. Routing of these tickets, following up and escalation and closing of tickets after customer agreement.
Focus Areas
- To ensure that all network elements are monitored on a 24/7 basis.
- Capture all network incidents on the FMS.
- Report, handover and escalate all network faults according to NMC Fault Handling and escalation Procedures within the prescribed service level agreements.
- Hand over all relevant network incidents to operational support.
- Conduct proactive intervention including routine tests.
- Provide technical leadership, training and support to staff.
- Conduct hand-over at shift rotation.
- Monitor and manage network.
- Manage planned works.
- Manage and compile reports.
