Key Responsibilities
Working very closely with the New Business Executive, your role will be to identify and see through profitable opportunities per customer across both wet and dry condiments, tea and gifting categories in support of the current sales team.
You will also investigate acquiring new customers in both existing and new markets and will manage accounts whilst new, see them through to a sustainable point before handing them over to the relevant salesperson in the applicable region.
Key Functional Areas
- Acquire an in-depth understanding of our products, capabilities, and capacity together with the needs and requirements of our customers to align these optimally and build a prosperous business relationship
- Market and Trends Research as well as Category Analysis
- Category Presentations and implementation thereof through the business
- Cross division and departmental liaison
- Manage support functions to ensure customer needs are met (e.g., NPD, procurement, QA, logistics)
- Execute a thorough and consistent communication plan both internally & externally, strengthening and building a great customer relationship through efficiency, trust, reliability, and mutual respect.
- Acquire new customers and build on existing customer base.
- Must be available for international travel.
- Actively seek and identify sales opportunities.
- Set and achieve volume, value, and margin targets for customer accounts.
- This includes setting annual sales budgets and providing regular sales and supply chain forecasts
- Maintain margin by monitoring of costs and pricing, together with Cost accountants
- Develop and implement sales and customer growth plans, strategies, and action plans.
- Work internally with supply chain/operations to ensure optimum stock availability.
- Oversee full execution of purchase orders by the sales team (PO received > production > shipment/delivery > payment)
- Analyse, interpret and report on sales data
- Degree in Sales/Marketing or Degree in Consumer Science
- Project management Short Course Certificate/Diploma advantageous
- 3 - 4 years sales and marketing experience in FMCG environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
