Main Purpose
- To manage, coordinate and take internal accountability for the timeous and successful development of all new products for OEM's and After Market ensuring overall customer milestone achievements and approval for continuous growth in the business.
- Grade 12.
- Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering or Related degree (e.g., Production Management).
- 5 years' experience in an Engineering or Technical role.
- 2 years' experience in a leadership role.
- 5 years working experience in a manufacturing and technical environment.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Project or similar (experiential learning on projects).
- Intermediate ERP Systems knowledge preferable SAP.
- Good general understanding of manufacturing processes and disciplines (including Production, Purchasing, Specifications, Engineering, Logistics, Finance and Quality).
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems in terms of SABS/ ISO TS16949, Q101, VDA6, 6S etc.
- Knowledge and experience of project management, SPC techniques, problem solving techniques, NOSA etc.
- Thorough knowledge of workflow for part routing selection.
- Understanding of various measuring instruments in order to effectively show product compliance with specifications.
- Understanding of customer specific management tools.
- To scope projects to ensure that project plans and activities are aligned to meet the end objectives by complying with all Gate requirements, standards, and timelines.
- To interact with Project Engineers and Subject Matter Experts involved in the project with regard to technical requirements, outcomes, and expectations (as defined by the customer and project), to submit relevant documentation, and to provide regular feedback to ensure successful outcome, avoiding delays.
- To identify constraints in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts and to propose alternatives to address the constraints.
- Manage and coordinate all development projects by ensuring that the site complies with all development schedules and timeous delivery of all products to customer.
- To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.
- Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.
- Manage the feasibility of new products in line with customer specific requirements to ensure the site manufacturability and product sustainability within the product life cycle while establishing SX as preferred supplier.
- Facilitate the tooling and mould manufacture for specific site requirements.
