Job Description:
As a Nurse Scheduler, your primary responsibility is to efficiently manage and adapt nurse schedules, ensuring seamless patient care despite any last-minute changes or cancellations. You will play a crucial role in handling scheduling adjustments due to nurses being unavailable, particularly focusing on managing cancellations and reassigning shifts to prevent disruptions in patient care.
Over time, your duties will expand to include proactively filling vacant shifts, requiring quick decision-making and excellent organizational skills. Your role is vital in ensuring that healthcare facilities are adequately staffed, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle last-minute nurse cancellations and reassign shifts promptly.
- Coordinate with nurses to fill vacant shifts efficiently.
- Ensure schedules are optimized to maintain uninterrupted patient care.
- Communicate scheduling changes effectively with nursing staff and facilities.
- Track shift assignments and availability in scheduling software.
- Must have your own laptop and a stable Wi-Fi connection.
- Previous scheduling or healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Available to work 3pm-11pm and a couple of hours on Sunday.
