Overview

The Womens & Childrens Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the states leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SAs largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists within CAMHS Enfield to join the team as an AHP2 Occupational Therapist working at a full-time capacity, on a long-term contract.

In the role of the CAMHS Clinician, you will utilise your clinical expertise to provide guidance, support, orientation, and education to colleagues, and actively engage in action research projects, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development within their practice settings.

This role involves addressing discrepancies between practice and policy, ensuring optimal consumer care, and offering crucial components of care such as assessment, education, counselling, and group work, all aimed at achieving the best possible consumer health and recovery outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated competence in occupational therapy assessment and treatment.
  • Clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within occupational therapy and its theories and models, including group work.
  • Work with a high degree of responsibility with limited supervision and direction.
