- Matric.
- Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution in South Africa.
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Essential: 3 years of experience within a medico-legal field.
- Essential: ErgoScience or WorkWell certification.
- Provide expert occupational therapy services, conducting assessments, writing reports, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to address clients' needs.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Oversee resource allocation to support subordinates and cultivate a positive work environment with teamwork and mentorship for the occupational therapy staff.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy team practice, ensuring compliance with professional standards, evidence-based methods, and medico-legal guidelines.
- Collaborate with Healthcare and Legal Experts for integrated services in medico-legal cases.
- Identify staff training needs and facilitate growth and learning opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support staff in setting and achieving professional goals.
- Implement Quality Assurance measures to monitor performance, adhere to medico-legal standards, and collaborate with compliance teams for corrective actions.
- Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and confidentiality of patient and medico-legal information.
- Function as a liaison between departments and Stakeholders. Collaborate to develop relationships, promote services, and contribute to the medico-legal organisation's growth.
- Promote continuous learning, stay updated in Occupational Therapy and medico-legal fields, support research initiatives, and evidence-based practice.
