The Department - Description Of The Department
The Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm Officer will work closely with the Manager of Discrimination, Harassment, and Gender Harm to provide advocacy and awareness-raising programming regarding discrimination, harassment, gender harm, and related issues for the university. They will also assist in coordinating discrimination, harassment, and GBV complaints and provide hands-on complainant support and related record-keeping for the university.
The Requirements
A 3-year B. Degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) in counselling, social work, or related discipline plus approximately 3 years relevant experience where such experience includes: -
- Previous experience with advocacy and awareness-raising in matters relating to gender violence, harassment, discrimination, and transformation.
- Experience managing and coordinating complaints and/or allegations related to gender violence, discrimination, and harassment
- Experience working collaboratively across departments to achieve institutional goals, including policy development and implementation.
- Previous working experience in higher education will be an advantage.
- Incumbents with an Honours Degree or studying towards one will have an advantage.

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R440 529.00
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R584 474.00
