INTERNATIONALISATION OFFICER

ALICE CAMPUS (the incumbent will be expected to service all campuses)

Minimum Requirements
- An Honours degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years working experience with International Students within the field of Internationalisation.
- At least two years experience in enforcing international students compliance with immigration regulations and university rules.
- Experience of participating in recruitment of prospective international students.
- Valid drivers license.
- Experience of working at various levels of Internationalisation at an institution of higher learning.
- In-depth knowledge of South African immigration regulations.
- Knowledge of policy framework for internationalisation of higher education in South Africa.
- Plan and coordinate the registration process of international students.
- Ensure international students compliance with immigration regulations and university rules.
- Prepare registration report of international students upon completion of registration processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all categories of international students and post docs fellows.
- Prepare and write letters for study permit application and renewal purposes for international students.
- Attend to international students enquiries and those related to registration, study permits and medical aid cover.
- Arrange and facilitate workshops for international students on Immigration regulations.
- Liaise with VFS, DHA and SA consulates abroad concerning study permit application matters and related immigration challenges faced by international students.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure timeous selection, admission and registration of international students.
- Liaise with faculties to determine admission quotas for International Students.
- Plan and facilitate the orientation programme for first entering international students.
- Plan and facilitate recruitment of prospective international students.
- Develop recruitment brochures and other materials for recruitment purposes.
- Use various media platforms to market the university and to recruit prospective international students.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Sound networking and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work extra hours when a need arise.
- Etiquette and respect for internal and external university stakeholders.
- Conflict resolution and problems solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of Immigration regulations.
- Appreciation for cultural diversity and inclusivity.
- Teamwork and office organizational skills.
- Advanced computer literacy packages such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook.
