We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Officer to join our dynamic team. The role will be based at Mac City - Elandsfontein but with travel to other regions/provinces. In this role, you will manage the full SHEQ responsibilities for all Novotexi Construction sites. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety. You will be responsible for ensuring a company's compliance with relevant safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. The role focuses on minimizing risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving the overall safety and quality standards of the workplace.
, Requirements,
Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 Grade 12+ / Higher certificate essential
Minimum NQF Level 6 or 7 Diploma /Degree in Safety Management essential.
Minimum 5 years operational and administration experience in a SHEQ environment is essential.
Must hold a valid SACPCMP (The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) License
Knowledge of the OHSA essential.
Intermediate proficient levels in Excel, Word, Outlook
Intermediate proficient levels in SAP and other in-house systems
Excellent Communication Skills
Excellent Administration & Presentation Skills
, Duties and Responsibilities,
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies
Be fully conversant on all construction site requirements and procedures.
Prepare safety statistics for management.
Perform safety inductions to ensure all employees and contractors are inducted according to regulations.
Attend on-site safety meetings.
Creating and maintaining safety files.
Ensure SHEQ compliance of contractors.
Monitor and control contractors on site.
Conduct audits on contractors.
Ensure implementation of all group legal appointments.
Update legal register and ensure accessibility according to legal regulations.
Ensure relevant RMA claims are logged and submitted.
Report on Claims
Provide input into the development of site operating procedures to ensure all work practices are conduced safely in
compliance with relevant acts.
Ascertain and control SHEQ hazards.
Administrate and participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses.
Recommend corrective measures to be applied based on results of environmental contaminant analysis.
Responsible for monthly SHEQ report.
Calculating and updating LTIFR
Maintain SHEQ documentation, reports and registers.
Conduct incident investigations.
Conduct site inspections.
Implement and maintain risk assessments.
Administrate legal compliance audits.
Arrange fire drills and implement emergency procedures.
Maintain the lifting tackle equipment system.
General Safety Administration.
Ensure Safety talks are conducted weekly.
