Job Description

The MyGoals team is a dynamic unit within the newly formed OMiX business, within Old Mutual Limited. It aims to help our customers reach their financials goals through the use of dynamic, data-driven insights to create meaningful and timely digital and physical personalised interactions.

The team applies customer-focused design thinking, agile and lean development methodologies, and continuous delivery practices.

Responsibilities

This role analyses and advises business on business requirements and works with design & implementation staff to design & implement solutions within constraints.

Analyses past, present and future business environment.

Documents requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts, etc.

Works closely with systems analyst and agile team to design and implement solutions within constraints.

Owns systems, user acceptance testing and implementation of changes or new applications.

Ensures all testing protocols are adhered to.

Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.

Works with managers and relevant users on feasibility studies and establishing business and systems requirements.

Formulates strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment.

Analyses system or business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.

Facilitates the implementation of new or enhanced processes.

Reviews processes and conducts process audits, as required.

Provides support and facilitates sessions for end users, e.g. training.

Designs new business processes.

Consults to management (both IT and business) on business procedures and policies.

Requirements

Matric plus 8 years exp in business applications & exposure to IT functions.

Experienced in business and data analysis, solutions design & testing, data modelling.

Previous experience in insurance/life insurance would be an added advantage.

Ability to ask strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problems (elicitation and probing).

Expertise in conceptual modeling; ability to see the big picture and envision possible solutions.

Outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Understanding of the agile development process.

Familiarity with requirements techniques such as, user stories, use cases, and informal modeling. These are the primary requirements techniques used by agile teams.

Ability to facilitate a team to reach consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation decisions.

Must be business-oriented, eager to learn (growth mindset), empathetic, innovative and goal-oriented. Should be flexible towards working in an Agile environment.

Adaptable and ability to work within a cross functional team.
