Job Description
This role forms part of the Old Mutual Finance Business Unit, this is the lending and transactional banking arm of the Old Mutual Group. The role of the Compliance Officer is to ensure compliance with the BU legislation and the interaction with regulators. The incumbent will be individually accountable for establishing and embedding compliance over periods of 3 months to a year.
Establishes and embeds compliance in area of responsibility.
Ensures compliance within area by implementation of compliance risk management and monitoring plan.
Conduct compliance monitoring activities.
Reports on compliance breaches to direct line management within Compliance.
Facilitates resolution of compliance breaches.
Accountable for implementing the compliance framework.
Initiates and facilitates corrective action where required.
Assists in mitigation of compliance risk.
Utilises legislation, and impact of legislation on the BU/functional area is limited.
Be able to work well in a team.
Must be a self-starter
Minimum Requirements
Law/Audit and or relevant tertiary qualification
Minimum 5 Years Compliance And Or Audit Experience
Financial Services Industry experience
National Credit Act experience is advantageous
