Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple construction sites and ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and mentor senior site staff/foremen, promoting collaboration and efficiency.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules to meet deadlines, flagging delays proactively.
- Conduct daily, 2-week, and monthly planning to avoid disruptions and manage procurement timelines effectively.
- Manage snag lists to completion within allocated timelines.
- Source and evaluate materials and suppliers, ensuring alignment with project budgets (BOQ).
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and suppliers, managing quality inspections as each phase is completed.
- Maintain open communication with clients, architects, and project professionals to resolve queries promptly.
- Attend site meetings as the primary representative and ensure seamless coordination with stakeholders.
- Enforce health and safety compliance through collaboration with safety officers.
- Report site-related issues promptly and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
- Ensure contract adherence and communicate deviations to the Contracts Manager.
- Maintain accurate daily site diaries and audit materials/tools regularly.
- Conduct disciplinary hearings on-site when required, following company procedures.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Registration with SACPCMP is advantageous.
- At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Experience in managing subcontractors, procurement processes, and quality control.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
