Job Introduction
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for an Operations Excellence Accountant based at our operations in Centurion, reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which an Operational Excellence Accountant plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
The position requires at least 5 years experience within a similar environment. Relevant industry related experience would be advantageous.
Role Responsibility
Monthly Site Profitability Computations
- Calculate and advise on Price Increases (PI) for customers in various businesses
- Compile site profitability analysis per customer per site after reporting month end close (Revenue, direct labour, direct costs, vehicle expenses)
- Analyse and trend on historical Site Profitability Analysis Report
- Identify cost inefficiencies and implement action plans
- Compiling action plans in collaboration with Operational Excellence, General Managers and
- Compare budgeted/forecasted results to actual or expected results in order to identify
- Analyse and verify of the accuracy of the systems to provide valid financial information
- Analyse and verify actual results for variances to previous reporting periods, or to identify
- Ensure compliance with SOX
- Review processes and procedures and assist in developing / improving procedures
- Assist in implementing training for identified improvement areas
- Increase profitability of the various business units enabling the project stakeholders to advance
Health and Safety
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety
- Attend safety education and refresher programs
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
Minimum Requirements
Qualification And Experience
- B.com Finance degree or any relevant tertiary qualification recommended (Degree)
- Minimum 5 years cost and management accounting related experience essential
- SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) knowledge/experience recommended
- Advance Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite & Google Chrome Suite)
