Purpose

Responsible for planning & executing all operational activities, relating to Sea, Road, Air, Rail and Project shipments. Lead the execution of commodity shipments including coordinating clearances, planning, capacity booking, efficient oversight of loading operations, coordinating documents for border clearances, tracking to destination and final POD acquittals.

Interrelations

The role reports to the Logistics & Freight Manager in South Africa, with a dotted reporting line into National Operations Manager.

Job Scope - controller is the coordinator of internal tasks and first contact to customers for external operational activities

Container, Dry bulk, Break bulk and Air freight imports
Road freight cross border import
Road bond coordination
Manifests
Warehousing and bond Store oversight
Plan and book capacity as per instruction
Coordinate and have clear oversight and control on cargo and documentation flows
Facilitate border clearances through 3rd party agents
Warehouse oversight from warehouse acceptance letters, handling, FOB services as per SLA
With the FREIGHT DESK, ensure planning, booking and execution of freight services as per instruction / contract
