- To manage and oversee the Logistics & Projects Operations based at Komatipoort.
- The successful incumbent will be required to start up a division/business in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga.
General
- Responsible for overall management, direction and coordination of site activities, operations, logistics.
- Logistics operational experience will enable you to look after all internal operations and BU management.
- Relationship and negotiation skills will come into play whilst dealing with vendors and partners.

- Manage depot and warehouse activities
- Partake in Sales activities and Solution building for new opportunities / Customers

- Building customer and subcontractor relationships.
- Provide client estimates when required within 24-48 hours (Excluding tenders)
- Managing all shipment claims.
- Overseeing scheduling and ensuring that it is done efficiently on the system.
- Ensuring the accurate execution of loads.
- Reporting to Management daily and assisting with queries.
- Communicating and understanding new and current road transport legislation
- KPI reporting and presentation
- HR Management of reportable employees.
- Scorecard reviews to be completed bi-annually for direct reports.
- Ensure disciplinary measures are actioned when required.
- Briefing reportable staff on necessary company information.

- Ensure client reports are accurate and distributed to clients as per the SOP
- Making sure that the deferment is paid on time.
- Checking with accounts concerning balance, payments and latest status.
- Submit necessary paperwork to Customs for deferment
- Submission of Acquittals to Customs if required.
- Contacting various agents locally and over border requesting outstanding Acquittals.
- Assist with local Acquittals (RIB, XIB, EX, ETC).
- Communicating with clients on various issues including queries.
- Communicating with Customs regarding queries.
- Communicating with Shipping lines, agents, third parties, etc
- Communicating with the controllers, etc.

- 5-8 years' experience in supervision / management positions in logistics business.
- Understanding of new infrastructure/civil project management and regulatory issues.
- Knowledge of Customs Clearing, duties and VAT + Knowledge of INCO terms.
- Must have solid all round management experience which will entail Financials,
- Transport, Operations, Sales, Customer Care, Warehousing and Distribution and Stock Control.
- Experience with Container, Bulk and Break bulk logistics/shipping advantageous.
- Supervise material and equipmrent related distribution procedures within a wearehouse environment.
- Complies with QHSE, controls inventory and maintain the physical condition of the warehouse.
- Safeguards the warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
