Job Objective
The Operations Manager leads the manufacturing team to ensure plant metrics are achieved in a safe, timely, quality, cost efficient and productive manner. The incumbent is accountable for the achievement of product quality and foods safety, manufacturing costs, productivity, and HSE compliance.
The Ops Manager will be a key driver in development and implementation of facility and process improvement initiatives.
Key Functional Areas
- Responsible for overall management of the manufacturing processes and activities.
- Manage monthly as well as annual metrics to support operation productivity, quality, food safety, delivery and H&S.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy on Procedures, Systems and Processes
- Ensure accurate and efficient Inventory Management
- Report on performance measures on a predetermined frequency
- Lead a team of motivated Supervisors and Managers in a customer focussed and efficiency driven environment
- Responsible for continuous improvement, management of best practices, documenting standard work, and ensuring highest possible levels of productivity.
- Drive the implementation of as well as compliance with the company Food Safety, Quality and HSE programs.
- Manage third party service providers.
- Manage costs against budgets set.
- Ensure site is appropriately staffed and functions are covered based on shift schedule.
- Manage team by effectively reviewing and providing feedback on KPIs.

- Management of Logistics into and out of the site
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required
- People management experience is required
- Monimum of 3 years experience in Production Management and leadership in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Experience in implementing world class manufacturing practices
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and interpersonal.
- Proven leadership, management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and provide direction.
- Strong drive for results is essential, with self-directed leadership, requiring minimal supervision & being proactive.
- Must possess high ethical standards and ability to abide by CHSs values and philosophies.
