Job Description
Develop, implement and manage the continuous integration and deployment of solutions for production applications across various software platforms.
Responsible for providing thought leadership, establishing and growing DevOps and Engineering practice and for creating software deployment strategies that allow software engineers to successfully deploy sites/software in any environment. In charge of designing, building, and optimizing comprehensive development automation systems that service the entire application landscape.
Develop, implement and manage the continuous integration and deployment solutions for production applications across various software platforms
- Lead the creation of new technology infrastructures and frameworks and maintain configuration management and automation tools.
- Troubleshoot issues in development systems and is also be responsible for the architecture and technical leadership of the entire DevOps infrastructure
- Enable the automation of configuration management of all development, quality assurance, and production servers as well as the automation of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Identify and implement appropriate DevOps tools and technologies
- Conduct DevOps training and knowledge-sharing initiatives with software engineering teams.
- Coach the engineering teams in the workings of reusable tools and patterns, for example, reusable code.
- Support engineering teams in the implementation of lifecycle infrastructure solutions and documentation operations in order to meet the engineering departments quality and standards.
- Keep up with industry best practices and trends on behalf of the software engineering teams and broader IT department.
- Conduct research, test, and implement new metrics collection systems that can be reused and applied to any site/software development project.
- Lead and guide the team in identifying and implementing new technologies for software engineering.
- Create software deployment strategies that allow software engineers to successfully deploy software in any environment.
- Update configuration management tools, code, and modules for the purpose of streamlining implementation and supportability.
- Create solutions for managing and ingesting large numbers of documents in real time, enabling prompt search and analysis.
- Implement monitoring solutions that identify both system bottlenecks and production issues.
- Identify and implements data storage schemas such as clustering in order to maximize performance
- Design scaling strategies and develop automation scripts and solutions for the purpose of streamlining, implementing, and testing sites/software
- Develop self-service solutions for engineering teams in order to deliver sites/software with great speed and quality
- Design, implement and maintains solutions for automated monitoring and alerting
- Ensure statutory and legislative knowledge is always current in order to resolve customer complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices and procedures.
- Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
- Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
- Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5 8 years working experience in a Software Engineering or DevOps capacity, preferably as a DevOps Engineer.
- 5 8 years experience in leading implementation of DevOps practices and tools, systems automation, orchestration, deployment, and implementation.
- Relevant IT certifications advantageous.
