This role involves overseeing the production of the wooden portable storage units (Woodworking skills required) as well as general facilities maintenance and assisting with vehicle break downs or maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing and Procurement Management:
- Oversee the manufacturing process of wooden portable storage units.
- Manage procurement activities, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
- Ensure the timely delivery of materials required for manufacturing.
- Maintain and oversee our fleet of trucks, forklifts, and manufacturing equipment.
- Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and inspections for vehicles and equipment.
- Address any issues or breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
- Lead and manage the fleet and truck staff, including drivers, packers and maintenance personnel.
- Provide training and guidance to staff to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Maintain warehouses in an organized and efficient manner.
- Optimize warehouse space and layout for maximum efficiency.
- Schedule and oversee all required services and certificates for warehouse compliance.
- Monitor key operational metrics, such as order processing time and fulfillment rates.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed.
- Ensure that operational processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage inventory levels and trends, conducting weekly counts and reconciliations.
- Address any issues related to vehicles, forklifts, or manufacturing equipment promptly.
- Implement strategies to manage inventory effectively and prevent shortages.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the integrity of our storage units.
- Address customer complaints or issues related to damages promptly and to the customer's satisfaction.
- Allocate resources, including staffing, equipment, and materials, based on operational needs.
- Identify and address any resource constraints or needs to maintain smooth operations.
- Plan and schedule monthly training sessions for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
