Reporting: Senior Product Developer

Purpose

Cape Herb & Spice is looking for a dynamic & innovative Packaging Technologist to lead projects & develop solutions for key customers across the globe.

Challenges abound in this fast-paced role that offers the opportunity to compete on the international stage and pioneer innovation in the industry.

Role Objectives

• Packaging Development & Innovation
• Project Management

Key Functional Duties

• Identify sustainable and cost saving packaging opportunities
• Lead sourcing & development including driving deadlines, trialing process & problem solving
• Manage full technical compliance to required standards
• Provide Technical support

Education & Required Knowledge

• Either an equivalent of the below degree and 2 - 4 years experience or no formal qualification with 5-10 years experience will be recognized:
• Packaging Technology
• Food Science or Technology
• Project Management
• Advantageous experience in:
• Graphic Design (including packaging design)
• Product Development
• Commercial
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft office)
• Excel Fluency Intermediate level
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Technical knowledge and understanding of printing process and specs.
