The core function of this role is to provide legal and administrative support to various business units in the Bank. This entails inter alia, drafting and reviewing basic legal documents such as standard and non-complex contracts, facility letters, guarantees, pledges and cessions. Liaising with external stakeholders such as attorneys instructed by the bank, counterparties and court officials. Legal review to confirm compliance with conditions of sanction and legal requirements before pay-out to customers. Processing court orders and regulatory directives to ensure compliance and mitigation of risk. Assisting with any other related tasks in the Legal department as may be assigned to by the line manager. Filing and record keeping.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or equivalent essential
- Paralegal Diploma
- Experience in banking or related sector.
- Knowledge of legal environment and processes
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years work experience involving any quasi legal and/or administrative duties preferably from banking or financial services.
- BCom Law or LLB
- Experience in banking would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Legal environment and processes.
