Job Description
The Payment Specialist will be driving the implementation of various Payment Streams on behalf of the bank into the National Payment System including the run and management of industry certification. Furthermore the Payment Specialist will be instrumental in the design and implementation of operational and back offices processes resulting in the incubation of a Payment Ops area for the new Bank.
The role of Payment Specialist is part of a team that underpins the running of Payments, Cards as well as Value Added services and cross functional collaboration and support will be vital to the successful running of the team.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Customer strategies:
- Design and implement payments functionality for the App that is easy to understand and aligns to the design principles of the bank to improve customer understanding and utilisation.
- Design and implement with the servicing team all processes and functionality that enables informed customer management.
- Write business requirements for Olympus owned functionality around payments to inform development at partners and manage dev cycle with partners.
- Act as a subject matter expert on requirements from BankServ in development with partners.
- Manage SIT, participate in UAT and Industry Certification testing.
- Manage Friends and Family testing process for Payments.
- Drive the design of operational processes and control environment to establish a Payment Ops area for the new Bank.
- Identify and manage risks in the payment process according to policy.
- Collaborate with other functional risk areas as it impacts payment, e.g. fraud.
- Act as subject matter expert for the business around payment related areas.
- Participate in training and skilling the new Banks staffing as it moves through business readiness phase.
- Representative for the Bank on various PCHs and other representative PASA forums.
- Ensure representation of the Banks interest,
- manage internal alignment within the Bank on potential issues that may emerge and need broader input and
- communicate all relevant information from PASA to the business.
- Research market trends around payments.
- Contribute to the development of new payment products or enhancements to existing ones.
- Work closely with data team and finance teams to ensure all reconciliations around payments are designed and build.
- Build data products with the team to enable payments insights and management by all stakeholders.
- Develop customer facing data products to support or enhance the customer journey on the App
- PASA Foundational and Advanced High Value Payments Certificates (advantageous)
- Proven experience in the payments industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a related role, including exposure to build environments and industry testing.
- Deep knowledge of various payment methods, systems, and technologies
- Strong understanding of payment regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team
