Payments Business Design & Systems Analyst

What will you do?

The main responsibilities are design and specify payment solutions, engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders to compile accurate requirements, to analyse data and derive logical conclusions, and to develop innovative solutions for operational and strategic changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Multi Data annual & ongoing strategy review, planning processes, and active project delivery participation.
  • Manage, mentor & support the Multi Data operations and sales teams.
  • Work with numerous internal and external stakeholders in delivering payment solutions and effecting business change management, specifically in investigating initiatives, developing concept, defining scope, & producing relevant artefacts.
  • Assist with investigations, propose & evaluate solutions, provide insights into strategy & inform strategic thinking from a business architectural perspective.
  • Provide analytical, conceptual direction & thought leadership to drive ongoing business improvements.
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders in enabling business change, understanding implications of proposed initiatives on the organisation, upholding the business strategic vision and business commitments, especially in effective management of stakeholders
Business Design and Systems Analyst Responsibilities

The Payments Business Design & System Analyst is an incumbent that will take the lead in the BA activities and remain to also carry BA responsibility. As a result, the following outputs also remain relevant. These outputs will be carried out by the incumbent and also be delivered to the key stakeholders of Sanlam Multi Data.
  • Identify & define business requirements for new business models or changes to existing models (including application requirements and any graphical user information (GUI) requirements) - produce the Business Requirements Definition (BRD) & Business Requirements Specification (BRS), prepare business use case diagrams & test cases
  • Understand technical integration patterns including technical specifications and how they work with external stakeholders
  • Producing epic hypothesis statements, features and user stories in an agile working environment.
  • Analyse & design new business processes & organisational structures to support business requirements
  • Create business process models, analyse models & identify variances from operational & performance requirement
  • Define & design changes to existing processes as required & ensure integration of changes into process environment and translate into features and stories
  • Work with the project manager, architects, & other team members to define non-functional requirements (including metrics & performance goals) for the application
  • Participate in transitioning the requirements & use cases to other systems analysts & designers, and ensure a clear & complete understanding of the requirements
  • Participate in quality management reviews throughout the BCL & SDLC to ensure requirements are fulfilled
  • Review test approach & test cases to ensure coverage of relevant business scenarios, use cases & functionality defined
  • Participate in testing to ensure that business requirements have been met
  • As subject matter expert assist with investigations, business impact & benefits analysis, & updates of the business case
  • Assist with benefit realisation review
  • Provide agile delivery, rapid solution development and fast track of business requirements specifically to align with business deadlines and agreed delivery dates
Minimum Requirements
  • Accredited business/systems analysis diploma
  • Relevant degree will be advantageous
  • Extensive experience and proven track record in successful BA roles
  • Relevant Agile methodology certification will be advantageous.
Knowledge & Experience
  • > 6 years Knowledge /experience within the Financial Services Industry, specifically Banking and Payments and Collections Industry.
  • Broader knowledge of financial services industry and understanding the strategic issues facing the industry.
  • Ability to understand business strategies, market & industry trends, legislative constraints & technology capabilities and translate into business solutions.
  • Business design and Analyses related (BA)
  • Knowledge of business & understanding of IT & ability to converse in both domains
  • Understanding of /experience with analyses methodologies, process disciplines, BCL & SDLC methodologies (Waterfall & Agile)
  • Ability to understand & resolve complex, multi-dimensional problems & the ability to articulate complex or technical concepts and issues in business terms.
  • Network and Relationship development ability
  • Experience in leading a team and confident in delivering results with and through people.
  • Changes to existing ( even substantial ) process changes & business initiatives
  • Alliance/contract management regarding external service providers/stakeholders an advantage
