Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll-related financial transactions. This role involves working closely with the payroll and finance teams to ensure payroll data is accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported.
Key Performance Areas
Duties include but will not be limited to:
- Assist in reconciling payroll accounts with the general ledger, ensuring that all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded.
- Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate payroll processing, including the calculation of wages, bonuses, deductions, and taxes.
- Participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll accounting documentation and explanations.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and accurate information regarding payroll accounting matters.
- BCom Degree in Finance / working towards one
- 1-2 years previous experience in payroll accounting, finance, or general accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software. Experience with payroll systems advantageous (Sage 300.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll accounting concepts clearly.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong collaboration skills, with a willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to collective goals.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
