Description Of The Role And Purpose Of The Job
The payroll administrator is accountable to the payroll manager for high quality and accurate payroll services to meet client needs for all colleagues and sub contactors in KPMG SA including the responsibility for the end-to-end process for monthly payrolls and Accounts Payable processing in addition to weekly and ad hoc manual payment runs.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
- Adhere to all monthly, year end and legislative deadlines.
- Process all payroll changes in Oracle accurately.
- Prepare, calculate and load manual payments.
- Preparation and provision of payroll reports, both on a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Ensure payroll entries balance with GL for IRP 5 run.
- Assist Payroll Manager with SARS garnishee process and upload into payroll.
- Assist with issuing manual IRP 5, eFiling and other document requirements such as UIF forms.
- Prepare reconciliations and 3rd party payments.
- Assistance with redundancy or other calculations as required.
- Compliance with all KPMG policies and procedures and local legislation.
- Read and keep in contact with trends and developments in the payroll area.
- Further develop technical specialist knowledge in the payroll function.
- Use Oracle and SARS specific software and other professional software in an effective manner.
- General administration including electronic filing, archiving and tasks as requested by the Payroll Manager.
- Upload bank payments for release.
- Assist Payroll Manager and Payroll Senior with various reconciliations for payroll related items.
- Weekly Bursary payments to be processed - Accounts Payable in Oracle System.
- Any other ad hoc assigned tasks as required.
Skills and attributes required for the role:
- 3 years payroll experience (computer based), including PAYE, SARS Filing, UIF, Skills Levy, Staff benefits and Superannuation.
- Competent and experienced in computer-based payroll programme/s (Oracle preferred), and the Microsoft suite (particularly Word and Excel).
- Experience with Oracle Accounts Payable module.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
