Role Overview
The role responsibilities will be split between 80/20 for Payroll and Corporate Accounting/Bookkeeping. The desired candidate will be required to oversee the end to end process from payroll to financial accounting.

Requirements
- A financial educational background such as bachelor's degree in Finance, Tax, Accounting or relevant field
- 1-2 years experience of relevant payroll and/or accounting experience
- Strong numbers acumen, analytical and a working knowledge of excel and google sheets
- Strong reconciliation and analysis skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to identify inconsistencies and challenge numbers
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to improve processes and drive efficiencies
- Experience in being able to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills Resilient and able to adapt to a changing work environment
- Takes pride in producing work deliverables to a high technical standard
- Must be proactive, eager to learn and adherence to company principles and values
- Previous experience in Cryptocurrency - advantageous
- Previous experience in FinTech - advantageous
- Maintaining centralized payroll records
- Calculation of monthly payroll, including but not limited to, bonuses and allowances
- Monthly end-to-end processing of Africa-wide payrolls
- Liaising with external payroll and tax advisors
- Processing month end payroll journals
- Ensuring monthly and annual payroll returns are compliant, accurate, filed, paid and tracked
- Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll related balance sheet GL Accounts
- Internal reporting for payroll approval
- Working closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the monthly payroll process
- Identifying payroll issues and use various tools and techniques to provide suggestions on how to solve them
- Continuous maintenance and improvement of templates and standard operating procedures.
- Assisting with ad hoc accounting processes
