Responsible for all payroll functions, this includes South Africa and throughout Africa.
Maintains payroll data integrity by maintaining the Sage PEOPLE system, directing the collection, calculation, and input of data.
Manages and oversees the monthly payroll process by reviewing and approving any/all data changes.
Prepares monthly audit reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave types, commissions, incentives etc.
Perform a first review of payroll prior to submitting to management for review.
Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of statutory deductions/taxes, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
Prepare PAYE returns and reconciliations to SARS.
Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Complies with local legislative requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains payroll staff by upskilling and training employees.
Maintains payroll staff output by counseling employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising results.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
