We have an exciting position that has become available for an experienced and professional Payroll Officer who will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the payroll function by completing the payroll lifecycle for Faircape Group, our subsidiaries and ally companies
This position will be based at our modern Claremont Office that is centrally located and just across from Cavendish Square.

Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data input, calculations, and distribution of payslips
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including any special payments, bonuses, and deductions.
- Submission of payroll variance reports to Manager for approval
- Stay current on relevant payroll laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Address employee payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.(Adding new employees / taking off terminated employees)
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management review.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend process improvements as needed.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Supervise the alignment of biometric data with the shift workers' rosters and verify that all staff adhere to their contractual hours.
- Upload Payroll to the bank account for authorisation
- Raise any concerns related to poor timekeeping or inaccurate record-keeping of absenteeism.
- Send Daily Attendance reports to management
- Promptly and accurately process all leave applications.
- Ensure the timely submission of monthly EMP201 forms to SARS, EMP501 Reconciliation bi-annual and WCA annual returns to the Department of Labour..
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree advantageous
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of relevant software and systems, with experience in payroll software implementation preferred.
- Knowledge of provisions of Basic Conditions of Employment Act, statutory and legislative requirements in respect of PAYE, UIF, Coida
- Ensures precision and correctness in processing payroll data and calculations.
- Pays close attention to details to avoid errors in payroll processing.
- Handles sensitive payroll information with discretion and maintains confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills
- Strong analytical skills to address and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates honesty and ethical behavior in handling payroll responsibilities.
- Proficient in using payroll software and stays updated on technological advancements.

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi time between 07h00 and 18h00.
Salary on offer is from R 30, 000 Cost To Company per month. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market related factors.
