This position is responsible for the direct management of the entire Phaco Develpment (PD) team within the assigned area.
Responsibilities include :
- leading, supervising and assisting the PD team in innovating and executing, and any other new and upcoming projects.
- coordinatING with international PD in planning and organizing special Outreach Partnership Programs, PD Fellowship and Residency Training Partnerships programs.
- recruiting and developing internal and external staff assigned to these programs, manage all resources related to these programs as well as coordinate all activities with internal/external stakeholders. These include cross functional team, Leadership of External Teaching Institutions, and Fellowship/Residency Faculty, Speakers, Consultants, MoH, NGOs etc.
- developing Cataract/Phaco Surgeons that are surgically competent, knowledgeable about the Cataract/Phaco procedure, capable of using Phaco Equipment, core ophthalmology surgical products and related instruments.
- building Fellowship - Residency Program. Ensure compliance with International PD training program SOP's in order to standardize and reproduce quality PD programs.
- contributing to the overall increase of the number of qualified Cataract/Phaco surgeons trained.
2 years Alcon surgical management experience or ophtalmic industry equivalent experience.
5+ years Alcon PD management experience or ophtalmic industry equivalent experience.
Languages: Proficient in English & local South African language
