MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure a comprehensive, professional and cost effective pharmaceutical service to in-hospital patients and the public
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Ensure the availability of medicines and scheduled substances to stores and the public
Ensure accurate dispensing
Ensure efficient stock holding of medicines and scheduled substances
Required Education
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: B Pharm / B Sc Pharm / Dip Pharm

Required Experience
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years experience in a hospital pharmacy Stock management and distribution
Required Job Skills And Knowledge
- Financial management
- Ethical and surgical product knowledge
- Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965)
- Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship
- Medical aid benefits regulations and formularies
- Knowledge and experience working with relevant pharmacy systems (e.g. UNISOLV; AS400)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Ethical stock control practices and principles
