Responsibilities
- Controls the Field Operations of the plant and tank farm
- Checks and records plant operating conditions and reports abnormalities/faulty equipment
- Analyses plant and product samples and preparation of chemical and product batches
- Assists with the preparations of the plant work clearance permits and monitoring of contractors working on the plant
- Inspections and filling of road tanker / ISO-Tank
- Maintains a good working relationship with all Evonik Peroxide Africa personnel
- Acts as a Panel Operator upon request
- Controls the housekeeping and safety of the field section of the plant
- Compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care standards and procedures
Requirements
- Matric with National N6 Certificate in Chemical Engineering and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation or
- National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation, or
- BTech Chemical Engineering, and minimum 5 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operation.
- Very good English communication skills (verbal, listening and written communication)
- Motivation, confidence and development orientation
- Proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Reliability and accountability with the execution of tasks
- Prepared to work on day and night shifts or on standby as per shift roster
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Own transport and a valid drivers license
