Job Description & Specific Objectives
The Midrand Plant Manager is responsible for
- The robust, reliable, and compliant supply of all products packed and released through the Midrand site
- Ensuring that Compliance, Environment, Health, and Safety standards are adhered to
- Developing and executing short, medium and long-term plans for the site in line with our manufacturing division's Operation Unit strategy, both locally and globally
- Delivering results against budgets, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Creating and maintaining a high performance, inclusive team environment.
Position Responsibilities
- In partnership with the Quality Lead, drive the sites quality compliance performance and regulatory standards for product quality
- Ensure that the requirements of all governmental and regulatory agencies are met. These include Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) applicable in each country.
- Ensures compliance with company and local regulatory standards and requirements for EHS, together with the Safety Lead.
- Monitor and evaluate manufacturing cost and delivery performance.
- Foster a lean culture with implementation of MPS (our company's Production System) tools on site.
- Ensure inventories are kept to agreed levels to assure the highest customer service levels.
- Ensure the cost-effective purchase and storage of components and other materials to meet the varying production demand, and ensure all plant, equipment and buildings are maintained to a high standard.
- Develop and direct programs to ensure organizational effectiveness. Provide competent personnel at all levels and improve technical and people management abilities of the leadership team.
- Ensure development and maintenance of effective employee relations through the implementation of an appropriate working environment and response to the needs of all staff. Create a highly diverse and inclusive work environment based on collaboration.
- Ensure the site has a robust security program in place to protect all company assets and control access to the premises and restricted departments.
- Ensure the continuous operation of a site occupational health surveillance program in accordance with EHS policy.
- Performs the role of the Responsible Pharmacist for South Africa.
- Responsible for reporting adverse experiences or events (AEs), adverse device events (ADEs), product quality complaints (PQCs) and other reportable information, customer feedback (CF), alleged counterfeiting, diversion, and tampering (CDT) that they become aware of to the Designated Point of Contact (DPOC)

- Qualified Pharmacist
- Proven leadership skills with demonstrated track record of delivering sustained results and operational improvements
- Min. 7 years experience in a manufacturing leadership role, including experience leading a function or production unit
- In-depth understanding of packaging operations
- Quality/Compliance mind-set
- Innovative, with strong focus and proven experience in delivering continuous improvement using the latest process excellence tools.
- Sound judgment and comfortable operating in a challenging, fast-paced complex and ambiguous environment
