Main Purpose Of The Job
To manage the internal flow of pieces, from receipt to shipping as well as packaging availability. The main missions of the role are to:
- Ensure a stable material and information flow from receipt, binning, warehousing, picking, transport, line supply and empties return.
- Loading of finished products into trucks, track shipments, communicate all shipment failures, follow up and contribute to its rectification.
- Manage recovery process / area.
- Conduct the implementation of logistics basics: booking operations, traceability, labelling, container management, etc.
- Ensure high stock accuracy level of IT system data.
- Monitor visual management system: deploy visual First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and install physical alert systems (e.g. no-stock).
- Assure the cleanness and tidiness of Logistics areas (5S).
- Ensure all relevant Material Handling Shop floor-KPIs get measured; documented and corrective action gets initiated in case targets are not met.
- Regular PC&L Shop floor management meeting gets conducted
- PC&L representative are participating to the UAP Top 5 to allow an efficient communication with internal customers. PC&L representative is prepared and provide all relevant information to Production
- Conduct regular shop floor management walkabouts, create action lists (KPI boards, WI, 5S, ).
- Ensure maintenance of Logistics equipment (racking, material handling equipment, scanners, ).
- Manage Material Handling human resources: Absenteeism, Ensure all Material Handling team members are trained and coached, create and maintain a HR development plan for promising team members.
- Responsible to achieve Continuous Improvement targets: analysing of current processes, suggest and implement optimisations.
- Use Problem Solving Methods (e.g. 8D, PC&L QRCIs) to investigate root causes and define preventative actions to stabilized processes and to support a safe working environment.
- Comply with HSE regulations and enforce conformity of the Material Handling team members.
Minimum education level:
- National Diploma / Degree in Logistics
- Experience in production in an industrial environment
- Minimum bi-lingual (proficient level of English required)
